Even though this is a smaller file size and slightly smaller resolution than the 2CD rip, the picture quality is still better IMHO, which you can see by comparing the screencaps. If you look closely at the screens from the 2CD rip, you can see pixelation and blocking, while my version has a clearer and sharper image.

My own rip from the Blue One DVD. Encoded to XviD with high quality settings. Denoising and sharpening filters were applied during the encode, but the color and brightness were not changed.

My notes:

One of the better Burd Tranbaree films, this is a fun road-trip story, beautifully shot, with gorgeous cinematography and sumptuous colors. The print is laden with reds and golds, highlighted by fallen leaves along the side of the road -- especially colorful in the scene when Guy stops to help Karine with her broken down car. Skin tones are sometimes almost too reddish. But even if not entirely natural, they somehow fit the mood of the film. I resisted the temptation to reduce the saturation, because in many scenes the colors are just right. Likewise, although a few scenes are a bit dark, I left the brightness alone, too.

The actresses include three blondes, two redheads and one black-haired brunette. Cathy Stewart is the lone brunette, and she has a minor role as a shy, sexually inexperienced hotel maid. Her scene with Karine and Guy is priceless. It's full of subtle humor and develops into a surprisingly hot threesome.

Brigitte Lahaie has two back to back scenes with Guy and Richard. This is the film in which she does an unforgettable gimmick with a cigarette (if you've seen it, you'll know what i'm talking about). It takes Lauren Bacall's sexy cigarette bit in "To Have and Have Not" to a whole new level. :)
